お散歩野鳥観察 / Bird watching on a walk

Since I did not go out to photograph anywhere, I took a walk along the riverbank near my house just before sunset and photographed the birds around me.

It is not a place where rare birds gather, and there is no place where I can take pictures from a low position, which I prefer. However, it is a good thing that the birds are so familiar with people that they don't fly away when I point my camera at them. In the suburbs, even Eastern Spot-billed Duck won't let me approach. If you are a beginner bird photographer, it is recommended to take pictures in the neighborhood rather than going out to the city.

I walked along a small river about 10 meters wide, which I found to be unexpectedly good for photography.

Ducks are often found in large ponds. In this case, the shooting distance tends to be long, which is not interesting for photography. With a small river, the distance is no longer than the width of the river, so it all depends on the alertness of the birds. Even so, I have cropped some of the photos this time.

Another problem that cannot be overlooked is the background. Taking pictures of ducks from high angles often falls into similar and undistinguishable images.

If the river is flowing well, the surface of the river itself is varied. I think this makes it easier to put together a picture, even if the angle is a little different.

A teal duck (male). The English name of the teal is Teal and that of the Baikal Teal is Baikal. Both of them are small ducks and the teal looks surprisingly beautiful. The teal is distributed throughout the northern hemisphere, while the teal is restricted to northeastern Eurasia.

A female Mallard. The light is just shining on the blue heavy rain cover, a charm point of the duck.

Looking a little uncomfortable at the overlooking point? Are you still okay?

As I was thinking that, she raised her left leg high toward me and flashed it at me.

Actually, I am not sure what the meaning of this action is. I don't know if it is just a kind of stretching. Can someone who knows more about this please enlighten me?

Compared to the female, who is very service-oriented, the male looks at me with a downcast expression. Only his eyes are looking at me.

It seems that this Grey Heron is always waiting here to get food from the house in front of it.

At this distance, it is a bit far for kingfishers.

This time, all the birds are really familiar to me. that's all.
