This is not the picture of the day, but this is what a Common Reed Bunting in a similar location looks like. The Pallas's Reed Bunting's upper bill is straight and its lower bill is flesh-colored, whereas Common Reed Bunting has a fuller bill and appears to have a pouty mouth. There is no difference in the coloration of the upper and lower bills.

This is a male Red Flanked Bluetail, which was easy to photograph because it was so familiar with people. I wish everyone was like this.

However, the blue on his back is quite dull. It is said that it takes three years for a beautiful blue color to appear, so it is said that he is still a youngster.

This is a male Daurian Redstart. He has a beautiful coat of fur.

At the plum tree, which is still at partial bloom.

A Great Egret in a park pond. Perhaps they are too familiar with people, they are looking for food without being fazed by the shouts of three or so little kids in front of them.

It would be easy to photograph them if they were all like this... but I never actually encounter them in the field. It is hard to imagine that they would suddenly start fearing people if they were out in the suburbs. This means that the radius of their movements is limited to the urban area, which is quite small.

I wonder if wild birds that have come to live in urban areas become accustomed to people, or if individuals that have always had a character that does not care about people choose urban areas as a place to live.

Somewhat unusual, a close-up of the lower half of the body.
